When you plan your wedding, you are going to have to make some big decisions. One of those decisions will be what you plan to do about the wedding reception music- will you choose to hire a band to play live music, or will you go with a DJ to spin songs all night? Not sure which is the best choice for you? Here are a few things to consider.
- Song selection make limited to a certain genre
- Guests may not be able to make requests
- You can't control a bad singer
- You can only control the volume so much
- Sometimes there is a lot more equipment to make room for
- You'll get an original, raw performance
- There is no experience quite like live music
- There will be thousands of songs to choose from
- Guests can usually make requests
- Songs will span genres and tempos
- You won't hear new versions of songs that you love
- DJs usually take up less space than bands
- Many DJs can provide amazing light shows for the dance floor
You're going to want to think about what is important to you when it comes to the reception music. Oftentimes couples will hire a band if they have a close friend or family member who is willing to perform. Likewise, when they know a DJ who is great, they may choose that route because they want to help the DJ get more clients.
What is your preference- what is most important to you when it comes to music for your wedding reception?
