Should Your “Something Blue” Be Your…Hair?

Posted by Leena Kollar on 16th Nov 2016

On your wedding day, you'll need "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." Most brides-to-be incorporate the blue with their jewelry, makeup or shoes. But have you considered donning blue hair? It definitely isn't for the traditional bride. But it shouldn't be completely ruled out either. There are many women with edgy style who love the idea of taking risks with their fashion or beauty choices. When it comes to your wedding day, you should embrace your style, no matter how "out of the box" people might perceive it to be. Depending on the vision you have for your big day, coloring your hair blue may or may not be a good idea. It's your day, yes, but will your conservative grandparents be in attendance? How would they react to your "something blue," if it wasn't something they considered appropriate? Remember that you'll have photographs of your wedding that will capture the way you look forever. If you don't want to look back and wonder what you were thinking, it might be a good idea to reconsider blue hair.

However, if you're confident that your personal style would best be represented by rocking a blue hued hairdo, then go for it! Maybe you'd rather look back on this day and be glad you stayed true to yourself and did something unique. Either way, blue hair is trending, and will probably be popular for awhile longer, so if your wedding is fast approaching, it might not be such a bad idea to grab that box of blue hair dye. Just give yourself time to do damage control in case you get yourself into a follicle fiasco!
