Popping the Question to Your Bridal Party

Posted by Leena Kollar on 24th Jul 2014

My sister asked me to be her maid of honor by sending me a text message of a picture with my name printed on a hanger (the one my MOH dress was to hang on). It was so cute and creative, and since we live on opposite sides of the country, it was a touching way to "pop the question." I have seen more and more creative ways to asks friends to be a part of the bridal party lately. It is almost as big of a deal as the actual marriage proposal! And you know what, it should be. The people we ask to be part of our wedding day are the most important people in our lives. They are the ones who have supported us, encouraged us, offered their advice and given us shoulders to cry on. So why not ask them to be a part of our big day in a big way?

This might not be as easy or comfortable for guys, but there are certainly creative ways to go about it. You can print the question on a label and stick it to a bottle of wine to present to your possible party members. You can write it on a piece of a paper and put inside a fortune cookie. You can use car paint and write it on your friend's car windows. It's time to think outside the box! Ooh...you could also use a box...instead of putting a ring inside, put a little note.

How did you ask your bridal party to share your special day?

What is the most original way you have seen it done?
