Once upon a Summer of 2012, one Pink Princess staffer, we'll call him M, encountered a wobbly walking dove while driving to work. The poor bird was flopping all over the place because it couldn't fly. Upon closer inspection, M found the dove to be missing parts of its wings and tail feathers.
Ever the knight in shining armor, M decided to rescue the injured bird of peace. He brought it into Pink Princess Headquarters for some good ol' fashioned Pink Princess TLC.
The staffers at Pink Princess Headquarters immediately began nursing the poor bird back to health. We rehabbed it by feeding it water, tortillas, bread, rice, peanuts, and donuts. To ensure sufficient patient monitoring, staffers and babies alike made frequent visits to the dove healing room. Initially, our fine feathered mascot was extremely shy. Slowly though, as its tail feathers re-emerged, it looked and acted more like its elegant and graceful self.
We recently bade a fond farewell to our friend, our dear mascot, our dove. It was a very good part of our work lives this past summer, and Pink Princess Headquarters will miss it.
Farewell, friend. Go in peace and live happily ever after.
