Happy New Year everyone! I don’t know about you, but 2012 came and went in a wink of an eye. It was a good year, but it had some challenges. Overall, I can’t complain. 2013 is now upon us, and I enter it with renewed hope that my New Year’s resolutions will be more realistic, and hopefully, more attainable. Through the years, disappointment and frustration were felt each time I failed to meet my personal goals, and they became more frequent. My husband had to remind me that I was too hard on myself, and until recently, I didn’t believe him. As the saying goes, we are our own worst critics. So 2013 will be a year for me to extend grace and forgiveness to myself if my goals aren’t met in the way I originally plan. Pacing myself and setting them in more manageable chunks will help me accomplish them successfully. So, what are my resolutions? Yikes! For me to share them to you would mean I would have more accountability. But it’s just between you and I, right? I have a few, but the two that I’ll share with you are on the top of my priority list. The first resolution is to get physically healthier overall. Aside from the typical promises of hitting the gym more consistently and eating healthier, my goal is to discover the food intolerances I have. I’ve already begun eliminating certain foods that were suspect for some time, and I am happy to say that I’m on my way to feeling better. No more acne and bloating. Yeah! The second resolution is to organize my office space. I desperately need a workspace that will help bring organization to my work and all the thoughts that surround it! New Year’s resolutions are often made and often broken. But I owe it to myself to persevere until they come to fruition. Falling short of the finish line is part of the process. But so is dusting myself off and getting back on the horse, so to speak. I’m back on the saddle with reins held tight. I’m heading out for parts untamed. Wish me luck. I’ll do the same for you.
