Looking Pretty In Winter Pastels

Posted by Leena Kollar on 20th Jan 2016

There are two color schemes associated with winter. The first is deep, rich hues like burgundy and dark green, usually used around Christmastime. The second is light, wintry pastels, commonly used after the new year, as spring approaches. We're now in the second color season of winter, and pastels are starting to pop up in anticipation of Valentine's Day and Easter. These ethereal colors are not limited to home decor or holiday celebrations. Our wardrobes also tend to follow suit. You may find that while shopping for or dressing your little ones, you are naturally drawn to lighter colors this time of year. It's hard not to gravitate towards these shades because they put you in such a joyful mood!

One way to really have fun with winter pastels is by combining them with contrasting textures. Take, for example, our Ooh! La! La! Couture Denim Shirt Dress w/ Pink Parfait Skirt. The pairing of the denim top with the pink ruffled skirt is girlie yet edgy. You can dress it up with outerwear and accessories, or dress it down with a casual pair of shoes. We personally love the idea of wearing this dress with our Pink Floral Stitched Shoes and White Straw Hat w/ 2 Tone Blue Trim & Rainbow Ribbon. Throw a cute jacket over or a pair of leggings under for chilly days, or add some jewelry for a dressier look. We love the possibilities that this shirt dress offers, and how perfectly it "fits" the winter season.

Are you and your kids rocking pastels this winter?
