Let’s face it. Tweens rule the world. At least the part that’s not boring or depressing. Think about it. They gave us Bieber Fever, Twilight, and texting. In a few weeks, they will give us the next American Idol.
And they are the only age group that can collectively pull off the skinny jean. It’s a good time to be a tween.
There was a time when this wasn't always the case. A decade ago, those between 9 and 13 were trapped in major identity limbo. In the wedding business, they had no business. They were not included in the wedding party because they were too old to be flower girls and too young to be bridesmaids. And when they were included, they had to wear the same dress as the 4-year-olds. Dislyk!
Not anymore. The tween culture is now demanding notice in the wedding world. They want to be called junior bridesmaids, and they want their own dresses, thank you very much.
They want to be pretty in pink
Not so basic black
And sing the fabulous blues
The best part about being a junior bridesmaid? No one expects her to throw the shower! Lyk!
Hail to the Tween
