Getting Ready for a Day Devoted to Red, Pink, and Love

Posted by Grace on 5th Feb 2013

Kids love Valentine's Day.  Once the Christmas season is over, Valentine's Day is the next big holiday when kids get to make colorful crafts, attend a classroom celebration, and, especially for the girls, dress up in themed outfits. Valentine's Day outfits for girls can be casually fun or classically formal, depending on the event.  Either way, the objective is: dress to impress. Since this year's day of love falls on a school day, the strategy is to "dress up" and still look and feel "casual."  We suggest a fun and flirty pettiskirt to achieve this balance.  Pettiskirts are extremely versatile, as they make a dramatic statement while still keeping the outfit casual enough for school.  The skirts move with ease and are very comfortable to wear, so girls can still enjoy all the fun play of recess. We like this pettiskirt that comes in two different shades of pink tulle and accented with a polka dot ribbon. Pair it with a solid top in black or white, and it's perfectly, casually chic for that all-important classroom party. Grade school kids are the luckiest people in the world on Valentine's Day.  Our little ones are always guaranteed to receive cards containing adoring messages and candies declaring sweet nothings.  So how does the best dressed girl at the classroom Valentine's Day party hold all the declarations of love and friendship?  With a heart-themed dance bag!  We found three that are pink and perfect and just the right size to hold all those valentines. What's more, these bags can then be used over and over to store other treasures long after February 14th.  They are made by respected dancewear maker Danshuz, so you know you're getting a quality, long lasting product. Valentine's Day is no longer just for couples in love.  More and more parents are including their kids in their Valentine's Day celebrations.  By going out to a nice meal together as a family, perhaps and early dinner, it is a wonderful way to show our little ones how much they are loved, adored, and treasured. What can your princess wear to the fancy meal?  Here are two of our favorites. Pink tulle with silver hearts: Red satin and sequins with matching shawl: Happy getting ready for Valentine's Day!
