I have a cousin getting married in a couple weeks- right at the start of fall. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the wedding, but it's got me thinking about fall weddings. Generally when I think of fall, I think of leaves and pumpkins. Of course there are also seasonal colors and flavors that come to mind, but those are the two most common parts of fall that people think of. But there's another element of fall that often gets overlooked. Apples. That's right, apples! We don't usually associate them with fall, but they are a large part of the season. People go apple picking, make caramel apples and drink apple cider. So why don't we see more weddings with apples incorporated? You can use apples as decor, or serve them as part of your menu. You can include them in your bouquet, or give them to your guests as a wedding favor. Really, there are lots of great ways to incorporate apples into a fall wedding:
- String & hang apples across the backs of chairs at the reception table
- Serve caramel and/or candy apples for dessert
- Serve apple pie instead of a traditional wedding cake
- Create centerpieces using apples
- Find a delicious apple cider recipe and make it your signature drink
What do you think of this fall wedding idea?
